Coloma Court is a care home which provides long-term care for 62 older people who require nursing. We can also offer short-term respite care, which is booked and confirmed in advance. The rooms for our residents at Coloma Court combine the familiar aspects of their home life with the specific things people need to make their life easier and comfortable.
Making our home your home
We encourage each new resident at Coloma Court to bring some items from their home with them so that they personalise their new room. We understand that the process of moving to a new home is more easy when familiar belongings are there to reassure and remind. Everyone is different, therefore we try not to restrict the types of things that residents bring. Curtains, light fittings and even chairs can form part of the personal things they bring into the home if they prefer. The most important thing for us is that we help them to make their space their own.
All of our rooms have a wardrobe, bedside cabinet, nursing bed, arm chair, at least two double electric sockets, telephone point and TV aerial point. Our bedrooms have en-suite facilities and we provide bathrooms fitted with specialist hoists. The bedrooms have a nurse on-call system so that residents can feel reassured that care is on-hand
Our building has a lift to access the upper floors and each floor has its own nurses station, TV lounge, kitchen area and dining room so that residents are never far from what they need at any moment.
We know that many of our residents appreciate being able to connect with the outside world, so we provide phone and internet access if required.
We are a dementia accredited home and our residents living with dementia live on the ground floor and have access to their own, enclosed sensory garden.
