Cote de Jenkin Road Hill Climb
Saturday 2nd July 2016
The Cote de Jenkin Road Hill Climb will take place on Saturday 2nd July 2016. The time trial event is one part of an exciting weekend of events in Sheffield, with the Sky ride taking place the next day. All categories can participate in this fantastic 1km (1 mile) ride, including youth riders, featuring a maximum of 120 riders who will tackle the 800 metre iconic Tour de France climb.
The whole family can come together to participate in the community ride in the morning, which allows everyone to try out a section of the climb. In addition to the hill climb and family ride, there will be a number of superb attractions throughout the day on Wincobank Common to support the event, such as face painting, bouncy castles, pasta stalls, a coffee van, circus workshop and an ice cream van – so there will plenty of things to see and do for a fantastic day out for all the family!
The Cote de Jenkin Road Hill Climb will start at 2pm, with all riders setting off at one minute intervals. Live commentary will also keep the crowd of spectators updated on the ride, which will provide a great atmosphere from the moment the riders take to their bikes to the moment the final rider crosses the finish line.
There will also be individual prize lists for all and equal prize money for men and women. Each rider will receive a free t-shirt and there will be an equal and extensive prize list due to support from Meadowhall Shopping Centre and HMT Hospitals.
