JCP Swansea Half Marathon 2016

JCP Swansea Half Marathon 2016

Sunday 26th June 2016

The JCP Swansea Half Marathon will soon return for its 3rd consecutive year – and is expected to bigger than ever before. 8,000 runners will participate in Wales’ second biggest half marathon, which has already become one of the top 10 half marathons in the country.

Improving the community’s health is a core part of our charitable objectives, as we aim to provide people with fun ways to boost their health and fitness levels. We are therefore delighted to support such a fantastic sporting event in Wales, which can result in long-term health improvements for the people of Swansea.

Enjoy a run along 13.1 miles of scenery, and 6 miles of stunning coastline, as you participate in the fully closed road event. You’ll start at Swansea city centre as you soon hit the vista of the Swansea Bay – making it one of the most scenic views of any half marathon. If that wasn’t enough, you’ll even receive a bespoke medal and a technical t-shirt, which will be a fantastic reminder of how you can achieve anything you set your mind to.

Run Swansea Seminars

In the run-up to the Swansea Half Marathon, we will be holding a number of health seminars, which can provide informative information on nutrition, injury prevention, post exercise recovery and training advice. Our goal is to help participants prepare for their Swansea Half Marathon, allowing them to train safely whilst boosting their health, fitness, endurance and focus.

Seminar Dates:

Seminar 1 – Tuesday 8th September 2015 at 6pm at the LC

James Thie, a broadcaster and Director of Athletics at Cardiff Met will deliver a talk at the seminar.

Spaces are limited and are only available on a first come first served basis, with booking being taking via the LC’s reception desk or by calling 01792 466500.

The Swansea Half Marathon is open to all ages and abilities, so it is never too late to pick up a pair of running shoes and start training. Whether you opt to embark on the racing challenge alone or with a friend, you can guarantee you will feel a unique sense of achievement as you cross the finishing line.

Our six HMT Fitness Champions proved last year how anyone can train and compete for a half marathon, with each of our champions finishing the race at a great time – and there’s no reason why you can’t follow in their footsteps.
