Patients Praise Outstanding Healthcare at St Hugh’s

In the last 12 months the team at HMT St Hugh’s Hospital has been talking to patients about the care they receive during their treatment. Patients have also been leaving feedback, star ratings and reviews on the hospital’s Facebook page.

The management team has collated the results and found that 99.3% of patients would recommend the hospital to their friends or family and 92.9% rate the overall experience as excellent.

Alan Overton, who recently had a knee replacement, said: “In my eyes, St Hugh’s Hospital offers a first-class service – if only all hospitals could deliver the same level of service, then patients wouldn’t have to suffer in pain and wait for treatment for as long as some do.”

Another patient Craig Deaks, who underwent a patellofemoral ligament reconstruction and anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction in 2015 and 2017, said: “Compared to other hospitals I’ve encountered, St Hugh’s is in a league of its own – it’s clear to see that all staff work to the best of their ability.

“The hospital is professional and clean and the staff do absolutely everything they can to help you.

“The treatment and recovery process was so easy and the team explained every step in full which really put me at ease.”

Craig arranged his hospital appointments via the national Choose and Book system, which he described as ‘quick and simple’ to use. Thanks to the scheme, patients can select which hospital they receive their treatment at and select dates and times to suit their schedule.

Ashley Brown, Hospital Director at HMT St Hugh’s, said: “We’ve been listening and responding to feedback to ensure we’re providing the best healthcare service possible, so it’s great to hear that our patients acknowledge our hard work and would recommend us to others.”

Specialist consultants provide a range of procedures from surgery to physiotherapy to both NHS and private patients from the well equipped, state-of-the-art facility on Peaks Lane in Grimsby.

Ashley added: “If you’re being referred for treatment by your GP talk to them about selecting St Hugh’s as your hospital of choice. We’ll work around your other commitments to book an appointment and explain all the elements of your procedure with you, so you remain fully informed and in control throughout.”
