Following the huge success of our previous Ride with the Pros event, which took place in June 2015, we are delighted to offer the public another opportunity to ride with professional cyclists in Grimsby. The public can therefore ride and chat with some of the most talented riders in cycling.

Distance: 15 mile route, 30 mile route and Go Ride Coaching Session

HMT St Hugh’s Hospital aims to promote healthy, active lifestyles within the community, and Ride with the Pros aims to encourage people to join us to boost their health and fitness levels, whilst enjoying the great outdoors.
Ride with the Pros will take place at 10.30am on Saturday 26th September 2015 at the Meridian Leisure Centre. It also won’t cost a penny to join us, as entry is free. All you need to bring with you is a suitable helmet and a roadworthy helmet.
The Ride with the Pros manageable route will be prepared by the NEL Lindsey Roads Cycling Club, and is expected to cover distances of 15 miles and 30 miles. Once you have completed the ride, you can join us back at the Meridian Leisure Centre for a well-deserved cup of coffee and a chat with the pros.
The routes will be suitable for beginners capable of riding 15 miles at around 12mph. The 25 mile route will split into two groups with group one riding at an average speed of around 16mph and group two riding at an average speed of 18mph. It is the responsibility of the riders to select the appropriate group. Please ensure you are capable of of riding at the average speed of the group you join. The group will endeavour to stay together as a single unit whilst maintaining the average speed for the group. There’s never been a better time to grab your bicycle and enjoy the ride!
Professional cyclists from JLT Condor, Polypipe Cycling Team and HMT’s very own HMT Academy will take part in the cycling event. Ride with the Pros offers a fantastic insight into the life of a pro cyclist, as you’ll ride alongside some of the finest riders in the sport.

Former National Champion and Sports Director at Polypipe Cycling Team will be in attendance on the day. Currently recovering from a knee injury Dean will be driving the Polypipe Team Car in support of riders on the route.

Professional rider with JLT Condor Cycling Team, Richard won the 2015 Durham Tour Series and claimed 10th position in the Tour de Yorkshire against some of the world’s best cyclists. He has also won the Tour de Korea and Ryedale GP.
Connor Swift; @swiftconnor
Connor rides for Polypipe Cycling Team with ambition to follow in the footsteps of cousin Ben Swift at Team Sky. After racing his first full season at top flight level in the UK he has gained his Elite license and demonstrated an ability to compete against world-class fields within road, circuit and time trial events.

Alex rides for HMT Academy, a development squad based out of St Hugh’s Hospital and has demonstrated sufficient class in 2015 to earn a place on the development programme within Lotto Souval, a continental World Tour Team.

Our friends at NEL Go Ride are creating two routes over 15 and 30 miles. They will take in the quiet scenic lanes around the Louth area heading towards the wolds.
