The ongoing development of HMT facilities ensures our patients have access to some of the most advanced facilities available. Our new sister hospital is designed to embark on a significantly improved range of services, featuring cutting-edge medical equipment, including a digital x-ray room, the latest generation MRI scanner and a diagnostic ultrasound and cardiology suite.
In addition, we plan to create 18 private en-suite patient rooms, as well as a high dependency facility, a six-bed day ward, 13 consulting rooms, a dedicated ophthalmology, two ultra clean, digitally integrated operating theatres, an endoscopy suite and ENT and plastic surgery rooms.
Work on the new hospital is scheduled to commence in early 2016, and completion is expected for Spring 2017. As our sister hospital, HMT Sancta Maria, will expand its range of services to patients, there will be numerous economic and employment benefits to the local area.
Stuart Hammond, HMT Sancta Maria Hospital director, recently commented: “We are thrilled our plans to build a new state-of-the-art hospital in a prime Swansea location have been approved. The location at Felindre, just off the M4 with parking for over 100 cars, will give our growing number of patients excellent access to the hospital, and represents a significant investment in Swansea by HMT.
